รู้ไหมว่าเราซาบซึ้งใจแค่ไหน
และรู้ไหมว่าเรานั้น ปลาบปลื้มเท่าไหร่
ที่ได้มีเธอ เป็นพลังอันสําคัญ
เพราะว่าเรานั้นรู้เธอทําเพื่อใคร
เหน็ดเหนื่อยแค่ไหน เธอไม่ไหวหวั่น

แม้ว่าจะไม่มีใครมองเห็นเธอ

Note: This song was written in remembrance of HRH Princess Kalayani Vadhana, our King’s eldest sister, a brilliant and exceptional lady who passed away four years ago.  An exhibition was also held to show seven aspects (spectrum) of her remarkable life as well as her dedication to improve the welfare of Thai people.  And I was honoured to be part of the exhibition design team.

• This song is chosen because of its beautiful music, and more importantly, its touching lyric that signifies the existence and influence of light to our life.  It draws a parallel between her dedicated life, somewhat behind the scene, and reality of light that is invisible to most people.

• Light is ‘seen’ only when it touches upon something, revealing the colour and beauty of life. With light, all things come alive and yet, light itself remains invisible.

• A beautiful rainbow appearing after the rain is indeed that same invisible light.  As a child, most of us think of it as a miracle and consciously waiting for the rainbow to become visible.

• With a gentle touch of sunlight on lingering mist in the air, we can now appreciate its colourful being.  For that brief moment, we can be grateful for the existence and the power of light to our life.
